A Saturday Morning Beginner’s Hike will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 from the Chief Logan State Park Museum. Just getting into hiking, or never tried? Join Lauren the chatty Naturalist for a beginner hike to get started on the right foot! Learn basic hiking and outdoor safety and Leave No Trace principles. Lauren will be hiking the Cliffside, which is a one mile trail. We will be looking for birds, trees, critters and everything outdoors. The hike is paced. It isn’t a race. It’s a let’s get started hiking opportunity and open to any person interested in getting outdoors more. It’s an easy hike, but some parts of the trail may have rocks, roots, or be close to sheer drops. Wear closed-toe shoes. No sandals or flip-flops. Let’s hike!
We do emphasize that masks are required as we begin the walk. As the journey continues, hikers may determine their mask use. As always, we encourage the wearing of mask and social distancing to protect the people you are interacting with during the walk.
