SUMMARY:Wild About Wildflowers
DESCRIPTION:Wild About Wildflowers is another opportunity to spy spring wildflowers with a park naturalist. \nDid you miss our annual wildflower hike? Don’t worry\, you didn’t miss the flowers\, because\, in spring\, you’ll discover more buds and blooms each week in April and well into May! \nJoin park naturalist Lauren Cole at the bell in front of the Museum in the Park at 1 p.m. to head out on a gentle hike on Cliffside Trail. This beginner trail lasts about 1 mile\, and the hike finishes on a walking trail along the main green for a total of about 1-3/4 miles. The pace is easy because we stop to look for and talk about spring blooms and relationships between flora and fauna in West Virginia. \nFree to attend and open to the public\, this is a good program for folks in garden clubs\, hiking groups\, master naturalist\, or generally curious folks. Families looking for an outdoor activity to learn more about spring wildflowers with youth are encouraged to participate.
